Swiss sustainable pension fund group Ethos Foundation has bolstered its team by recruiting Robeco engagement specialist Matthias Narr.
Narr will be based in Geneva and will join the group in mid-March 2017, contributing to the Ethos Engagement Pool International (EEP International), which was launched by Swiss pension funds and Ethos a few months ago.
The new initiative will engage with firms listed outside Switzerland in a bid to encourage good corporate governance and social sustainability.
The Ethos Foundation was created in 1997 by Swiss pension funds looking to promote sustainable investment and currently comprises 216 pension funds.
The news of the hire comes just weeks after the group announced its partnership with SIX Swiss Exchange to launch the Swiss Corporate Governance Index.
In other news, the Foundation said this week that it had received the go-ahead from Finma to open all of its investment funds to all types of investors.
The newly Finma-accredited fund range is run by Pictet Asset Management, with the exception of one run by Vontobel Asset Management, the Vontobel Fund (CH) – Ethos Equities Swiss Mid & Small.
The group publishes the carbon footprint of all its equity funds in accordance with the Montréal Carbon Pledge, of which Ethos is a signatory.
