NN Investment Partners has accelerated its socially responsible investment efforts with the hire of three specialist investors to form a newly-created unit.
The NN IP Responsible Investment team will be led by Adrie Heinsbroek, who joins the Dutch asset manager having previously worked as head of sustainability at ING Bank Belgium.
In his new capacity, Heinsbroek will be responsible for representing NN IP externally and advising the firm’s clients on responsible investment policies, as well as working with the wider investment teams on ESG integration efforts.
Meanwhile Johan van der Lugt will coordinate NN IP’s ongoing commitment to improving ESG integration within the firm’s investment process as senior ESG specialist. He joins NN IP from Robeco, where he was a senior equity analyst for global financials.
In addition, Faryda Lindeman joins from ESG specialist Sustainalytics to become senior corporate governance specialist. The team will report directly to Hans Stoter, chief investment officer at NN IP.
NN IP said he team’s primary goal is to drive the further development of responsible investing at NN IP and support all investment teams in their ESG integration and active ownership strategies
This latest development comes in the wake of a series of SRI efforts by the Dutch group. It recently launched partnerships to tackle specific climate change issues and also expanded its sustainable funds range with dedicated European green bond and equity impact strategies.
