LCH Investments, fund of hedge funds, published their annual list of best performing hedge funds.
The company said that Bridgewater made the most money for clients of any hedge fund last year. As a result, the firm held on to the number 1 spot of having generated more money for investors than any other hedge fund in history.
Since inception, Bridgewater founded by Ray Dalio has achieved net gains of almost $50 billion. Two years older, Goerge Soros's (pictured) investment vehicle came in second, bagging almost $42 billion.
The three newcomers on the list - DE Shaw, Citadel and Two Sigma - use systematic strategies, meaning they rely on computer-generated algorythms to trade.
