French ESG research company Vigeo and British firm EIRIS have completed a merger and created a new agency called Vigeo Eiris.
The new entity will offer two services: Vigeo Eiris enterprise, which supports various organisations in the integration of ESG criteria into their business functions, and Vigeo Eiris rating, which offers products and research services for investors and asset managers involved in ESG investing.
The merger was originally announced in October 2015 and completed on 22 December 2015, the companies said today. ‘The new agency benefits from a unique position in the global market through the geographic presence of both actors, their complementary expertise and their added value.'
Commenting on the deal, Vigeo Eiris' president Nicole Notat said: ‘We are entering the integration phase of our teams, methodologies and processes with a great deal of enthusiasm and confidence.’
Vigeo was founded in 2002 by Nicole Notat, while EIRIS was created 32 years ago. Vigeo proceeded to raise €6.3 million of new capital to fund the EIRIS acquisition and to ensure that the new entity has the funds necessary for Vigeo Eiris' future.
