Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) has appointed Derek Jackson as managing director of the Principal Credit Investments.
Jackson is joining the €192 billion pension scheme from hedge fund Davidson Kempner where he has served as a managing director since July 2009. At the company, he was responsible for European event-driven and opportunistic credit investing and managed a sub-portfolio.

Prior to working at the hedge fund, Jackson spent three years as an executive director at Alcentra, focusing on primary and secondary leveraged loan, mezzanine and high-yield investing within CLO and opportunity funds.
Jackson will join in May 2017 and will be based in CPPIB’s London office.
