AXA Investment Managers has appointed Michele Patri as senior portfolio manager within the AXA IM Framlington Equities European equities team, the company has announced.
Patri officially joined the asset manager in January 2016 and reports to the head of European strategies AXA IM Framlington equities, Gilles Guibout. Patri will be working on equity strategies with a total return approach.
Prior to joining AXA IM, he spent 14 years at AllianceBernstein where he managed global, long-only equity funds and ran a European flexible equity fund. He also worked for seven years at Citigroup, where he manged long-only European equity funds and also worked as a private banker.
During his tenure with AllianceBernstein, also known as AB, Patri previously spoke with Citywire Selector about his views on the ECB and how he believed Mario Draghi would work hard to ensure inflation was brought back to near 2%.
Commenting on the appointment Guibout said: 'His extensive experience in investment management and in flexible equities strategies in particular make him a valuable addition to the team as we continue to see strong opportunities in European equity markets.'
The European equities team at AXA IM Framlington Equities currently manages €30 billion in assets and has 30 investment experts.
