P+ Pension, which administers the funds of two Danish occupational pension schemes – the Danish Pension Fund for Engineers and the Pension fund for Economists and Lawyers – has promoted Søren Kolbye Sørensen to CEO, Modern Investor can reveal.
Sørensen (pictured) has been CEO since 1 January 2017.
Sørensen had worked as the director of P+ Pension since the company was established in June 2015. Prior to that, he was director at the Danish Pension Fund for Engineers for more than 13 years.
P+ was created by the two Danish pension schemes in June 2015 to take advantage of the economy of scale. The two occupational pension funds pooled their assets to bring down investment as well as administration costs. In total, the two schemes have 85,000 members and DKK 105 billion (€14.1 billion) of assets under management.
The previous CEO of P+, Torben Visholm, retired at the end of 2016.
Sørensen has been a frequent guest to Modern Investor Forums in London. You can read about his views on illiquid infrastructure here and watch a video featuring him talking about low-carbon indices here.
